The right care
Give your leather favourite from Cervo Volante the attention it deserves with the right cleaning and care. We show you how:
Your shoe deserves a shoe tree and loving care. You should not wear your leather shoes for more than two days in a row and let them dry well afterwards. Cervo Volante deerskin shoes are natural products. For the sake of beauty and breathability, the leather surface is only greased and not sealed. Irregularities in colour or grain are witnesses of the wild life of the red deer and give your shoe a unique character.
SMOOTH LEATHER SHOES
Wipe off dirt with a damp sponge or cloth. Remove heavy dirt briefly under running water. Allow the shoe to dry well and care for it with colourless leather cream (e.g. from Tapir). This high-quality shoe polish is handmade in Germany using only natural raw materials such as beeswax, carnauba wax and sunflower oil. Apply the cream sparingly to the dry shoe. After a few minutes, polish with dry, clean cotton cloth or shine brushes.
SUEDE SHOES
Brush out dirt, remove stains with foam rubber. Impregnate suede (e.g. Tapir) as required.
LEATHER SOLES
To dry out wet leather soles completely, lay the shoes sideways on the floor so that more air can reach them. For leather soles, we recommend regular treatment with leather sole care from Tapir.

Cervo Volante accessories are natural products made from wild Swiss deerskin. The leather has been tanned in Switzerland using a purely vegetable process without chemical tanning agents or heavy metals. For the sake of beauty and breathability, the leather surface is only greased and not sealed or given a synthetic finish.
Preserve the life of your accessory by following these instructions:
Avoid contact with soap, sweat and grease as this can stain the leather and shorten the life of the accessory.
Avoid scratches and abrasions on the leather surface. Because the leather does not have a synthetic finish but has been left natural, the surface is open-pored and soft. Fine scratches may become less good or completely invisible over time. However, larger scratches and abrasions should be avoided.
Do not clean your accessory with ordinary soap. The tanning process gives the leather a slightly acidic environment which preserves tannins and fat in the leather. Therefore, leather does not tolerate alkaline soaps well. Wipe off dirt with a damp sponge or cloth. For more severe stains, use a special leather soap, also called saddle soap.
Nourish the leather with a leather care cream or oil, especially after cleaning. Take care to apply the care product only thinly and to work it carefully into the leather with a cotton cloth. Depending on your preference, choose a product that is matt or shiny. The leather may darken due to the care product.
Water, skin contact and minor stains will dissolve into a beautiful patina over time and will not harm the leather. In particular, the light-coloured leather tanned with mimosa and quebracho acquires its characteristic deep cognac-coloured character with time and light.
The watch straps of the Big Crown by ORIS x Cervo Volante are made of wild Swiss deerskin. The leather has been tanned in Switzerland using a purely vegetable process without chemical tanning agents or heavy metals. The leather surface has been left natural, without any synthetic finish. The leather is therefore very well tolerated by the skin, anti-allergic and naturally beautiful.
Preserve the lifespan of your bracelet by following the instructions below:
Avoid contact with water, soap and sweat as this can stain the leather and shorten the life of the bracelet. Take the watch off when showering, bathing, washing your hands if possible, and during sweaty activities.
Avoid contact with chemicals and grease. Take care when applying hand cream, body lotion or perfume.
Avoid scratches and abrasions on the leather surface. Because the leather has no synthetic finish, but has been left natural, the surface is open-pored and soft. Fine scratches may become less good or completely invisible over time. However, larger scratches and abrasions should be avoided, of course also to protect your watch case.
Do not clean your leather strap with ordinary soap. The tanning process gives the leather a slightly acidic environment, which preserves tannins and fat in the leather. Therefore, leather does not tolerate alkaline soaps well. For stronger stains, use a special leather soap, also called saddle soap, e.g. from Tapir, and then nourish the leather with a very thin layer of colourless leather care cream or leather care oil.
Especially the light-coloured leather tanned with mimosa and quebracho acquires its characteristic deep cognac-coloured character with time and light.
Just like your watch, gift your leather strap the attention and affection it deserves. Take your watch off overnight so that the strap can dry.
