Traceability

Every stage of production for a piece of Cervo Volante leather is traceable. Each hide bears a mark from the butcher’s shop that collected it. The subsequent tanning processes are documented using batch numbers.

Features of Cervo Volante leather

The hides of wild red deer often bear distinctive marks due to their natural living conditions. These marks develop over the course of their lives as a result of injuries sustained during rutting battles, scratches from thorns, insect bites, and, at the end of their lives, the bullet hole and the journey from a wild valley or mountain to the butcher’s. The surfaces of Cervo Volante’s hides are untreated and left in their natural state. They are therefore chemical-free, breathable and hypoallergenic.

Why We Exist.

Switzerland manages its forests responsibly. We work with what already exists and emerges as a by-product of regulated hunting — transforming deer leather into long-lasting objects that respect material, craft and origin.
