Cervo Volante's children belts, barefoot shoes and sandals are handmade from purely vegetable-tanned Swiss deer leather in Appenzell and Estonia. Sustainable, hypoallergenic and without kitschy frippery.
Wild deer leather belt for the young ones
The lightweight children's belt with stag beetle embossing is cool with jeans, cute with a dress and pretty with corduroy trousers. Keeps skirt and trousers in place when playing and romping.
About Pop & Poppa
The kids’ belts with their stag beetles are pop in their own natural way. And they are just as suitable for pops and poppas (romanic for little, hearty boys and girls) as they are for the big, cool boys and girls. The belts made of untreated Cervo Volante dear leather turn every pair of children’s trousers into an eye-catcher. And they deliver what they promise: namely the trousers and skirt in the right place.
The smooth leather exterior shows off the wild and authentic look, while the fine suede side of the deer leather comes into its own on the inside. The edges are left natural, without edge colour or edge shine. A finely embossed stag beetle crawls towards the tip of the strap.
We at Cervo Volante are convinced that there is nothing better for children than materials from nature, without harmful substances or plastics. A gift from mums & dads with style, from godparents with sense and from grandparents with heart.
Barefoot Finches for Babies and Toddlers
Ursin & Flurina are natural walking learning finches for toddlers and small kids made from wild Swiss deer leather. A sustainable, allergy-free natural product for discovering the world by crawling, standing or walking. With light sheep wool padding by Swiss brand Muntagnard.

MANUFACTURING
By means of Strobel construction, the textile insole is joined to the upper of the shoe by a seam. The result is an unusually light, flexible and comfortable shoe.

PICTURE BOOK STORIES
Schellenursli and Flurina, the brother and sister from Carigiet’s well-known picture book, go together through thick and thin and over all the Engadine mountains. They help each other in the big snow, when releasing the black grouse chick or when decorating the sledge. Presumably they wore dear leather finches when they played in their Grisons home. Unfortunately, this has not been handed down…
The other well-known children from Carigiet’s picture book, Maurus from the Grisons mountains and his cousin Madleina from Zurich, also experience adventures in the mountains. Cervo Volante sandals are not suitable for glacier tours, but with their wild dear leather they remind parents that little tomboys want to discover nature: So take off your sandals from time to time, let Madleina romp barefoot in the stream and let Maurus hop through the moss…
Traceability
Every step in the production of a piece of Cervo Volante leather is traceable. Each hide has an identification of the butchery that collected the hide. The subsequent tanning processes are documented by batch numbers.
Features of the Cervo Volante leather
The skin of wild red deer is often marked with characteristic features due to their natural living conditions. These are created in the course of life by wounds during rutting fights, scratch wounds from thorns, insect bites and at the end of life by the shot hole and the transfer of the animal from a wild valley or mountain to the butcher’s shop. The surfaces of Cervo Volante’s leather are untreated and natural. They are therefore chemical-free, breathable and hypoallergenic.
