Weekender VIADI

Our Weekender VIADI* is the ideal travel companion – whether for a weekend trip to Lake Cauma or a business trip to Munich. Due to its compact size, it can also be used as a sports bag. Thanks to its round handles, the bag can be carried comfortably with one hand, even with a lot of contents. If it gets even heavier, it can be shouldered crosswise with the wide strap. The carrying strap can be adjusted in length with small metal screws. Handkerchiefs, a small reading book or a daily newspaper fit into the inconspicuous outer compartment.
The Weekender brings out the best in our deer leather: the purely vegetable tanning gives the travel bag a unique patina. The leather reflects a deer in the wild who has lived a full-fledged life.
The interior is lined with European organic linen. The fabric colours are matched to the leather colour. A sewn-in inner pocket with zipper offers space for wallet, key or telephone. The leather floor is protected with small feet.

MATERIALS
The Weekender VIADI is made of 100% Swiss deerskin, from animals that have lived in the wild and been hunted in the wilderness. The unevenness and scratches on the leather are traces of this wild life and a sign of authenticity and uniqueness. All leather is tanned in the canton of Berne 100% vegetable, without chrome and without synthetic tanning agents.
The metal buckles are hand-forged from copper in the Engadine and blackened with fire – the ecologically safest metal to complement our accessories. We renounce any harmul supplements such as lead, chrome or nickel and use fire for stopping oxidization processes that might occur over time.
Based on these forged unique pieces, we also succeeded in finding matching environmentally friendly zippers made of recycled PET by a Swiss company Riri.
The Weekender is sewn with an ecological thread made of cellulose fibres. The lining is a GOTS-certified and traceable Austrian linen.

HANDWORK
The Weekender is handcrafted by Roger Handermann in the old city of Zurich.
Our partner Lampert in the beautiful mountain village Guarda in Engadin forges for us the metal products that we need.
